Forgotten Heroes a social artistic project

'Forgotten Heroes' is an initiative by filmmaker Sam Yazdanpanna, with the support of the Metafoor Foundation, to create an interactive animation project based on the stories of unaccompanied minor refugees in asylum seekers' centers (AZCs).

Unaccompanied minor refugees from various AZCs, who do not have parents, share their stories in the form of moving drawings. Animation (multimedia) serves as a coping mechanism.

The 'Forgotten Heroes' project is a collaboration between professionals and unaccompanied minor refugees in AZCs. It consists of several workshops where different animation techniques are taught, such as stop-motion, drawing, and computer animation. Our aim is to break the isolation of these young refugees and introduce them to the cultural sector. We challenge them to develop their talents while making their identities visible.
